“My Therapy” Print by Katie Hounsome

My art is all high-standard Giclée printed and I offer a variety of sizes.

I enjoy working with bright, limited colour palettes and am inspired by the simple, bold Art Deco posters from the early twentieth century. I love nature and natural forms and use bold silhouettes and graphic shapes in my designs which I hope comes across well in the ‘My Therapy’ print.

The term Giclée (pronounced gee-klay initially coined by printmaker Jack Duganne in 1991)  is used to describe fine art printing using pigment based, archival quality inks, manufactured on advanced inkjet printers.

Whereas many traditional print technologies — such as lithography — use the classic CMYK 4-colour combination  Giclée printers use up to 12 individual colours which gives smoother gradient transitions and a wider colour gamut. This results in more depth and richness to the final print, which helps to create stunning vibrant artwork with colours that will retain their brilliance for a lifetime. This longevity is a key differentiator, because the type of archival inks used on Giclée printers won’t fade when displayed in normal conditions indoors.
