Fell Running is a sport enjoyed all over Britain and Ireland but its origins lie here in The Lake District. Based on Cross Country but set over the hugely demanding and exhausting inclines of fells, hills and mountains fell running is the one race that can bring together many varied challenges; from muddy moorlands to rocky, rugged and sheer fell sides, to climbing walls and stiles. All these factors test the runner’s strength, flexibility, coordination and balance as well as  running ability.
